Those of the Silver Light eventually master the secret of safely shifting
out of their bodies, so as to roam about the world in spirit form. Touching
lightly on the border of the material and astral planes, the mage may wander
freely between them. While wandering as a spirit, the scholar will be
visible to very few others, generally only those gifted with shroudsight.
The spirit mage may furthermore 'shift' to a target in the world,
potentially transporting his spirit form there instantly. Any such target
has a chance to resist being thusly located, save for those who are
sleeping. Shifting requires substantial mana, as will remaining in spirit
form for a prolonged time. Should the caster's mana be completely depleted
or his astral body attacked, he will be jolted back to his body.

While in spirit form, the mage will be largely unable to interact with the
world, including channeling most magics. However, astral projections may
still cast the 'dreamshape' spell on sleeping targets, due to the spirit's
proximity to the dreamrealms. Should the mage wish to return to his body,
he should use the 'relinquish' command.
