Duration: 6 hours Minimum Cost: 400 mana
Range: Caster Only

Syntax: cast 'earthen vessel'

Those who study the fortifying magics of earth and the fundamental theory
of magic offered by spirit eventually learn to transfer power between the
spheres. This takes the form of the earthen vessel spell, which allows a
mage to limit her own mana so as to wrap herself in the protective powers of
the earth. While so shielded, she will take nearly no damage from any
source until the energy is spent, after which she may be hurt normally.
Even when the protection of the earth's spirit is exhausted, however, she
will not recover her lost mana until the natural expiration of the working.

Drawing upon her deep understanding of the Stones of Power, such a mage may
use the Stones to further enhance this spell. Each Stone in her inventory
will increase the effects and decrease the mana limitation, though more than
three Stones offers no additional benefit. While this working is of limited
utility by itself, when enhanced by the Stones it can be quite formidable
indeed. Note that the Stones are merely tapped -- not consumed -- by this
