Playing Good?

Post by Gheughnne » Thu Dec 08, 2016 4:35 am

From what I've seen and heard about playing good is that it is hard and alienates you from many, which is a given, esp. when there aren't other real goodies around. But in a mechanical sense, are there suggestions for leveling, and maybe late game stuff for what to kill, things to run, how to get good equipment without waiting for someone evil/neutral to give it to you or find it in the shops? Because all the good evil gear is on evil mobs and anyone can kill them, but the great good stuff is on the good mobs, and you can't just go killing them. You have to work for it and request it.

Does request take a long time to build up?
Do you request while you level?
Is leveling actually easy and I'm just a newb at Good chars?

I ask these because it just seems like for goodies it's harder in a lot of ways, as if you spend a week requesting, and then get ganked, you lose all your great stuff, but if you're evil and kill everything, you can just run around and do it again (with numbers) and gather it all again maybe the same day (unless you're just hoarding it).

A good player if willing can grind on evil mobs and request the best goodie gear in the game, rivaling the best evil gear in the game, that requires 4+ players to kill said mobs. Good usually has to build up a lot of good karma to request the really good gear. Evils tend to turn on each other for shits and giggles and rob each other of their hard earned loot, which cannot easily be grinded for solo.

It's a give and take, but all in all, having request is a bigger perk than being able to kill whatever as an evil. It's fun being evil though, so....

And typically just save your built up karma to request at level 51, but if you struggle leveling, feel free to ask mobs in the game for their hard earned stuff...and remember you are leaving them defenseless if you choose to take that shiny sword via request, so make it count.

The problem with goodies is they so often end up coming off as either gutless pussies or self-righteous douche-bag psychopaths.

It is very rare to find someone who is able to hit that middle ground and play them as a normal fucking person.
