Age
During your time in Avendar, your character will age. This aging process is correlated to the time your character has been in existence. On average, characters will live about a year and a half to two years, real time. As you age, you will experience various benefits or penalties for your age.
Different lineages age at different rates, hence a caladaran will start their character older than a human, and a ch'taren will start significantly younger than a human. Regardless, all characters start out in what humans would term as a young adult, mentally, physically, and socially. If you are unsure how to play your character's age, simply refer to the term in the brackets beside it (ie, Youthful, mature, etc) for guidance.
The various categories are:
Youthful : All characters create at this age. Mature : +2 Strength, +1 Dexterity Middle-Aged : +1 Intelligence, +1 Wisdom Senior : -1 Strength, +1 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, -1 Dexterity Old : -2 Strength, +1 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, -2 Dexterity,
-1 Constitution, -3 resistance to bash damage.
Elderly : -2 Strength, +1 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, -2 Dexterity,
-1 Constitution, -6 resistance to bash damage (total).
Ancient : -4 Strength, +1 Wisdom, -2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution,
-9 resistance to bash damage (total).
Should one somehow become older than this, there may be further penalties.
