Upon connecting to Avendar you consent for any command you send to the server to be potentially logged and read by one or more members of staff. This includes any and all command inputs as well as both in-character and out-of-character communications via any channel, including but not limited to: say/esay, emote/pmote/smote, think, housetell/ht, tell, group tell, ESP, OOC, etc. In the case of communication channels, anything inputted into these is automatically echoed to any staff members who are connected and have that channel on. This assists us with facilitating roleplay and plotlines as well as allowing for players to express their characters' interests or personality in a way that staff can potentially interact with. In addition, characters past level 45 will have their entire playtime logged into a file colloquially referred to as their Book of Sins. We are happy to share this log with the player of a character upon request; it will otherwise never be viewed by or shared with anyone except staff members, nor sold or otherwise distributed to third parties for any purpose.

The privacy command is a toggle that exists to allow players to engage in private scenes in which communications and emotes are not automatically echoed to the immortal-side communications channel. Everything is still fully logged in a character's Book of Sins, but we will not read these scenes without consent unless we are given reason to believe some manner of serious out-of-character abuse or rulebreaking has occurred. This command will only function in private rooms, such as instanced inn rooms, and the player character(s) must be in the room for it to work.
