Staves
Skill type: Skill
Skill subtype: Item Activation
Primary user: Scholars
Range: Inventory Item/Wielder's Group
Syntax: Brandish <item>

Non-adventuring scholars and alchemists are able to imbue staves with magical spells, that they might be cast at a later date. Spells imbued within a staff will affect the user and his group, and may not be targeted in any way. Spells which may only be cast on oneself may not affect anyone other than the wielder of the staff. Staves may be freely used in combat, even if the spell within ordinarily may not.

Staves have a limited number of charges; should all charges be expended from one, the item will be consumed.

Staves are unrelated to the weapons represented by the staff skill.
