Avendar:Privacy policy
When you connect to the Avendar game server, we automatically record all text you send to us, including speech, notes, commands, and any other inputs. This logging occurs even in private areas that cannot normally be observed and this data is stored on our server. When editing the Avendar wiki, we log all edits and comments submitted, as well as metadata such as timestamps and other technical data. We also collect and store account information such as a username, email address, and password hashes.
All information sent to our servers, including all text sent to the game and any revisions, edits, or messages sent to the wiki, are retained indefinitely unless we decide to delete them for operational reasons. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored logs from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss, but we cannot guarantee the absolute privacy of anything transmitted to our servers. We highly recommend you use a completely unique password for your wiki account and Avendar characters (and everything else). Nothing you send to Avendar should be considered private.
Your data will never be sold or given to third parties. Only Avendar staff will have access to website data or play logs. We may use these logs for any purpose we deem appropriate, including but not limited to:
- Improving gameplay, fixing bugs, and developing new features.
- Publishing excerpts (e.g., for marketing, community highlights, or wiki expansion).
- Enforcing our policies (see Avendar:Rules)
By playing our game or editing the wiki you consent to this logging and usage. If you wish to have your data removed, please reach out to us as detailed below. We reserve the right to retain data that is essential for security, legal compliance, or core game operations.
In the event we need to make significant updates to this policy, we will announce it on the website, in-game, and other community spaces as appropriate. We may update this privacy policy at any time. Continued use of the game after changes indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
If you have any questions about your data, please reach out to us at staff@avendar.net
