Discern Iniquity

Even a basic understanding of the spirit world allows an initiate of its mysteries to sense the presence of evil. This ability empowers the mage to detect NPCs of evil alignment, as well as PCs who have tainted their souls sufficiently. The scholar will see such evildoers as though surrounded with a red aura, and will sense their presence when they draw near. This ability grants only a superficial glimpse into the soul, however, and thus cannot distinguish essential evil from mere recent wrongdoing; neither can it separate the holy from the simply apathetic.
