Feign Demise

Skilled like no other in the art of misdirection, a mage of the endless facade who sees a lethal blow coming soon enough might manage to avoid it with a bit of trickery. By whispering a quick enchantment, she can relocate herself to an adjacent room, simultaneously creating an illusory corpse of herself, complete with a full set of illusory equipment. Such a one is warned not to rely on this sleight of hand, as it has a high rate of failure -- when successful, however, it might well make the difference between life and death for the scholar. For some time after using this ability the mage will be unable to invoke it again.
