Investigate

Watchers are able to consult with their guild and access their copious resources in order to find information about items or bodies. The analysis will be returned to them in a note. Inquiring about an inventory item will provide information about who has held the item previously at the barest minimum, for a cost of 2 gold. A detailed analysis will include information about the item itself (for 5 gold), and a complete analysis will also provide the item's history, if there is any of note, or whom created it, if it was made by a ranger. The complete service will cost 15 gold coins.

Investigating a corpse will provide information about the killer and, if the body has been disfigured, identify the body itself. Investigating a corpse always costs 5 gold coins, and there is no need to specify how thoroughly you wish it investigated. Investigations may be performed on corpses of both PCs and NPCs.

The user need not have the money on hand; the guild's agents are perfectly capable of drawing directly from the user's bank account.
