Puppetmaster

During the course of his training, a mage of void and spirit studies the nature of the soulbound in great depth, eventually coming to understand the intricacies thereof. The various bits of lore such a one picks up allows him to become known as a puppetmaster, an adept of binding and unbinding. Such a one gains power over charmed creatures of various sorts.

Firstly, such creatures will often balk at attacking the puppetmaster, recognizing his power for what it is. This power is not absolute, but rather works as a partial defense against melee attacks made by charmed creatures.

In addition, when the mage attacks the master of the charmed being with an offensive spell, the casting will expand automatically, applying to the original target and all of her charmed creatures in the same room.

Finally, when a puppetmaster releases a bound minion of another with a successful casting of the unshackle spell, there is a chance he will be able to reenslave the newly-freed creature, taking it as his own charmed follower. Certain creatures cannot be reshackled in this way, most notably phantasms and demons; moreover, the mage may not already be master of any other charmed creature, excepting only his familiar.
