With sufficient control over their art, fire templars are able to apply heat to metal weapons and armor to permanently enhance rather than destroy. When used on a metal weapon, the item will gain hitroll; when used on metal armor, the item will gain AC. In addition, temper will permanently adjust the item's level to be equal to the spell's effective casting level. There is a small chance to destroy the item when used.
