Runecraft

With the runecraft skill, a mage of earth may deepen her understanding of runic magic beyond the normal ken of her peers. One so trained will receive bonuses to the effectiveness of nearly all runes, in some cases adding secondary effects. Moreover, she will be able to invoke a single monosyllabic rune freely, incurring no mana cost to do so. Additional runes -- regardless of syllable count -- will continue to require mana as per usual.
