Martyr's Shield

By invoking a martyr's shield, a mage of the spirit and water spheres may sometimes channel the pain of a blow into healing for an ally. The effect of this is that whenever the caster takes damage, there is a chance he will automatically restore life to whichever groupmate is most in need, in proportion to the amount of damage taken by the caster. This will in no way reduce the suffering of the scholar himself, save for whatever comfort he may take in knowing that his sacrifice has helped another.
