By interspersing the caster's body with air, this spell diffuses his form, thereby changing the nature of his matter. While so affected, the scholar will move far more quietly, such that only those who can see the caster will notice his arrival. He will moreover be able to pass through most doors, simply seeping in around the edges.

In addition to this, the caster's resistances to various forms of damage will be modified due to his altered state. In particular, he will experience reductions to piercing, slashing, drowning, and light damage, in order from the most reduction to the least. However, he will also take additional damage from bashing, acid, and sound attacks, in order from the most additional damage to the least. Other types of damage are unaffected, as are the odds of saving against any of these damage types.
