Shops money and services

Syntax
buy <object>
list
sell <object>
value <object>
itemreturn <object>

BUY buys an object from a shop keeper. When multiple items of the same name are listed, type 'buy n.item', where n is the position of the item in a list of that name. So if there are two swords, buy 2.sword will buy the second. If you want to buy multiples of an item, use an * (buy 5*pie will buy 5 pies). These can be combined into (for example) buy 2*2.shield, as long as the * is first.

LIST lists the objects the shop keeper will sell you.
List <name> shows you only objects of that name.

SELL sells an object to a shop keeper.

VALUE asks the shop keeper how much he, she, or it will buy the item for.

ITEMRETURN will allow you to return an item you have purchased, subject to certain limitations. See help ITEMRETURN for details.

Item Return

Syntax
<itemreturn>

With this command, someone afflicted by buyer's remorse may return an item just purchased to the shopkeeper, for a full refund. This command cannot be used if the user leaves the room, gets into a fight, or if the item leaves their inventory for any reason.

Shopkeepers do not enjoy haggling over prices without purpose, and will request that you make a thorough examination of the item before deciding it isn't worth your coin.

Banks

Syntax
balance
deposit "all" or <amount> <coin type>
withdraw "all" or <amount> <coin type>
convert "all" or <amount> <coin type> [target coin type]

By going to a bank, your player can store coins at the bank.

The BALANCE command is used to determine how many coins are stored in the bank.

The DEPOSIT command is used to deposit coins in the bank.

The WITHDRAW command is used to withdraw coins from the bank.

The CONVERT command is used to convert coins in hand to the fewest (most valuable) number of coins, unless used with the optional third argument. In this case, the specified coins will be converted to the target coin type. Example: 'convert 4 gold copper' will turn 4 gold into 400 copper.

Note: There is a one time service charge of 5% on all coins stored in banks.

Healer

The healer charges gold coins for his services. Some services are still free to players of level 10 or below, however. To see a full listing of the healer's services, type 'heal' at his residence. To receive healing, bring plenty of money, and type 'heal <spell>'.

Outfit

The outfit command, usable by levels 5 and below, equips your character with a new set of sub issue gear (banner, weapon, helmet, shield, and vest), courtesy of the Mayor's warehouses. Only empty equipment slots are affected.

NOTE: The outfit command has been removed, and replaced by a facility in the School of Heroes (Always one room away from your recall point) for newbies to get equipment.
